June 2009 - Boris Zetterlund
Product Strategy Manager Axiell Library Group, focuses on product and development strategy for the Axiell Group. He was formerly managing director of the Axiell BOOK-IT business area offering IT services to over 200 customers (mainly public libraries plus some university libraries) in Sweden and Denmark. A Masters Degree in Librarianship followed studies in History of Ideas and Social Sciences. Boris worked for 13 years in Sweden’s Malmö City Library on all aspects of the trade, latterly as systems and IT manager. Over the last 11 years he has worked for BTJ Sweden and Axiell on all levels in the library automation and the information world including LMS services and Web portals. His particular areas of interest include: Web applications; mobile technology; ebooks; future technologies; library change processes; user experiences; how the physical library translates to the virtual room; the library service as a force for creativity and change. Boris is an experienced public speaker with previous engagements at events such as Scandinavian library conferences and national and regional level events in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. He is a member of IFLA, LITA and the Swedish Library Association. Publications include an investigation and report on media for immigrants in Swedish libraries.

March 2009 - Tim McGeary
Timothy McGeary is the Team Leader of Library Technology at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Tim holds a masters degree in Information & Systems Engineering from Lehigh and published his thesis on a multi-period capital budgeting model of electronic resources subscriptions. His interest in the Open Library Environment (OLE) Project was founded in the realization that in order to maximize electronic resource investments much work was required to change the data model to manage electronic resources on par with traditional print collections.
Tim is responsible for the technology infrastructure in the Lehigh University Libraries, specifically focused on leading the development of efficient and dynamic solutions to connect library collections to users, including leading the development of a VuFind connector for the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS.

March 2009 - Andy Latham
Andy joined Talis in August 2004 as a Senior Software Developer from Morse Group plc, a leading European technology supplier. After receiving an honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Andy has been developing enterprise-scale J2EE applications for large clients in the telecommunications, banking and legal sectors on technologies from Sun, IBM and Oracle. Andy is a Sun Certified Java Programmer and Certified SCRUM Master. As a Senior Solutions Consultant at Talis, Andy is currently leading Talis’ institutional integration initiatives and Service Oriented Architecture platform.

October 2008 - Dave Errington
Dave joined Talis in June 2003 from SurfKitchen Inc, a Venture Capital backed wireless mobile software startup based in Zurich and London. As Chief Technology Officer he worked with the founders and management team to refine their technology and business strategy to position the company for growth with early adopting customers, strategic partners and investors. Previously, he worked for The Sage Group plc (one of the world’s leading business software providers) as CTO and before that as Research and Development Director for Sage (UK) Ltd. After joining Talis in June 2003, Dave took responsibility for the company’s products, services and infrastructure before taking the role of CEO in September 2004. He leads the senior management team and as part of the executive team, is responsible for defining and communicating the company’s business and technology strategy. Dave has a BSc in Mathematics and a Postgraduate qualification in Mathematics and Physical Education.

September 2008 - Rob McGee
Rob McGee has worked as a professional at the forefront of library automation since 1967. At The University of Chicago, he was involved in three leading-edge research and development projects that defined and established the concept of the integrated library system (ILS) and the system architecture, data formats, standards, and protocols required to make it a reality. During the 1970s, in response to requests from the Library of Congress and other institutions, Rob began a private consulting practice. In 1980 Rob founded RMG Consultants, Inc. (RMG) to share his extensive experience and vision with library organizations and higher education institutions.
RMG is a boutique information technology consulting firm that has worked with more than 1,000 institutions and organizations to plan and implement technologies and technology-based solutions. Rob has led development of RMG’s processes and methods for planning, buying, and sharing library-related technologies. Rob has assisted hundreds of leading libraries and institutions of higher education worldwide to plan, procure, and implement IT-based systems and services. As RMG’s founder and president Rob has formed and led seasoned teams of senior consultants who have worked together on a broad range of IT projects with libraries, colleges, and universities throughout the U.S. and in Australia, Asia, Canada, Egypt, South Africa, and New Zealand.

September 2008 - Karen Reece
Sales Manager, Talis. Karen joined Talis in March 2003. Previously Karen worked in a number of roles within the library service at the University of Salford, before moving to a position at Talkingtech, a Talis partner organisation who jointly developed Talis Message. Karen has over ten years experience in the library environment and has a BA (Hons) in Literature and History and a MSc in Information Management.

August 2008 - Karen G. Schneider
Karen is the Community Librarian for Equinox Software Inc., the support and development company for Evergreen open source library automation software, where she builds relationships among the stakeholders in the Evergreen community. Karen’s first library jobs were lettering book spines and typing overdue notices (yes, on a typewriter). She became a librarian in 1992 and has been a manager, technologist, educator, and writer ever since, and has worked in every type library except bookmobile and school media center. She champions innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and user-focused design wherever she goes. She holds degrees from Barnard College, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of San Francisco. Karen has published 2 books and over 100 articles, including five literary essays, and blogs at the Equinox blog, at the Evergreen blog, and her own site, Free Range Librarian. She lives in Tallahassee and commutes and teleworks to Norcross, Georgia.

Taco Ekkel is Director of Development with Medialab Solutions BV, creator of AquaBrowser Library, a search and discovery solution for libraries. In his role, he has been responsible for product strategy and product design, and he has overseen the growth of the AquaBrowser technology platform into the first and most popular search and discovery solution for the library market. Taco holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Twente.

May 2008 - John Mark Ockerbloom
John Mark Ockerbloom is a digital library architect and planner at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has worked since 1999. John received a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree from Yale University. He has been involved in a number of community digital library architecture planning projects in areas that include digital formats and preservation, institutional repositories, courseware, and his present work on ILS and discovery integration. His areas of interest include information discovery, digital repositories and preservation, distributed architectures, and enhancing open access to information. He edits The Online Books Page (onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu) and blogs at everybodyslibraries.com.
