The Library 2.0 Gang is a regular monthly round-table podcast hosted by Richard Wallis, joined by several contributors drawn from a pool of regulars from the world of libraries and the technologies that influence them, to discuss the topics of the day.

Each month The Gang will be joined by a guest relevant to one of the topics under discussion.

Gang Regular: Carl Grant

Carl GrantCarl Grant is a librarian who has worked in libraries, or companies automating libraries, for over 30 years. He has held executive positions at the major library automation firms in the North American market (including Ex Libris, Innovative and companies that are now part of SIRSI/Dynix), either as a Vice President or President.

In early 2007, Carl founded a company named CARE Affiliates, Inc., a company specializing in open source software for libraries. In July 2008, Carl rejoined Ex Libris North America as President in order to help lead their movement to Open Platforms. Ex Libris, one of the largest library automation vendors in the world, offers solutions ranging from ILS’s, metasearch and the original link resolver, SFX as well as discovery tools, repositories and preservation systems.
